Ştefan Niculescu - Ison I / Echos / Ison II (Electrecord, ST-ECE 01692)

I've been listening to some "spectral music" last days, and these Niculescu's pieces are by far the best things I've heard from the school (yes, surpassing Grisey, Murail, Dumitrescu or Radulescu). Niculescu blends Spectralism with Romanian Folk Music and result is not just adventurous sonic textures, but - especially in "Echos" - also quite emotionally devastating.

performers: Avy Abramovici on violin ("Echos"); ensemble Ars Nova conducted by Cornel Ţăranu ("Ison I") and Cristian Brâncuşi ("Ison II").

P.S.: once again, as this seems to be pretty hard to find vinyl release, I would like to ask anyone who owns the copy and doesn't mind to share it, to kindly upload the scan of cover somewhere. Thank you!

get it here.

I totally agree with you. Niculescu is astonishing. Quite a pity it's too hard to find his music. I tried to buy some LPs from eBay two months and a half ago ago(including the one posted here), but unfortunately they never arrived (I hope, as a miracle, they appear some day).

Ah, if somebody's interested in, I have some more piece by Niculescu here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=a8f473262bc89de97172638919447f8bfd3e2932c0d5a37d

Hi! I think that now I have some more here: http://www.mediafire.com/index.php#emczzbvuu3lzb. I've gotten recording of his sextuplum, Heteromorphy, Tastenspiel, Uninosons II and a different recording of Sinchrony II. Perhaps, there's something else I'm forgetting.
